Filesoft Academy — Course 4 Lesson 4
Created by Plato · Filesoft

Requires FileMaker Pro 26 desktop on macOS, sold separately. Local teaching file, Admin with blank password. Keep an untouched original; work in a copy. Do not enable hosting. Not a production security or multi-user concurrency template.

Example: adds Project Workspace, TasksForProject dual-key relationship and hidden UI/controller scripts. Existing assignments/records are preserved, not populated or reset.

Open Contact Project Hub in Browse/Form View. Show All if needed and choose Rivera or Morgan. On an existing project row click Open project. Project Workspace shows only tasks matching both ProjectID and ContactID. Mark done/Mark open changes only the clicked task status. Fields are view-only; task creation/reassignment stays in earlier layouts. A project without assigned tasks has an empty portal.

Back to contact finds the project’s owner on Contact Project Hub; it produces a one-contact found set, not the previous found set. Show All to browse other contacts. Workspace toolbar counts Projects; portal rows are FollowUps. The Layout menu remains a recovery path if navigation reports an error. A failed commit can leave pending edits; correct and commit, or explicitly use Records > Revert Record.

Test Rivera/Morgan isolation, empty project, correct row status changes, return navigation, resize/scrolling and close/reopen persistence. Native appearance and interactions are owner-tested. Lesson contains full practice checklist.
